Sandown Cabernet Sauvignon

About This Wine

This wine forms part of Clarendon Hills’ Premier Cru classification.

Deep and meaty in its expression – a fleshy and red cedar-like undertone lines the typically velvety texture. Lifted and fresh, this cuvee requires a minimum of 5 years before it starts to soften fully and develop a candid exuberance that defines a dark fruit bias with cabernet lift.

About This Vineyard

Planted in 1940, these cabernet vines sit almost exclusively in sand. The deeply penetrating root structure provides resilience to climatic variations – and the vineyard produces a wine of pure cabernet aroma, reminiscent of the actual smell which fresh bunches have on the vine.
